c-type luminograms
2024 - 2025
Developing a spatially exploded photogram, the architecture of the photographic studio is considered as a camera. Components of photographic production are re-situated from their familiar locations, with the photographer and subject (usually outside) joining latent image, apparatus, and recording medium inside the black box. As a laser pointer is directed over an object positioned on a tabletop, multiple instances of shadowing accumulate on composited sheets of analogue colour photographic paper, drawing out its form. In this horizontal photogram light is targeted across the space, like the laser of the shooting range, rather than the geometric diffusion of the darkroom enlarger.
